I offer counselling and psychotherapy individual sessions. Counselling usually refers to short to medium term therapy looking at specific issues, whereas psychotherapy usually means long term to open-ended therapy in which you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
The therapeutic process, brief or long, is a journey of self-discovery and of personal development and growth.
HOW IT WORKS
The first session is an opportunity for you to tell me what brings you to therapy and what you expect to get from it. You will also have the chance to know more about the way I work, and we will discuss how we might work together.
There is no obligation at this stage to continue and you may wish take time to think and reflect further.
The number of sessions offered varies depending on your needs. If we agree to proceed, we can set a number of sessions or work with an open end. As the work develops we will reflect and review the duration of the work. You are free to stop at any time and we will then work together to plan and carry out a clear ending.
Therapy sessions are usually weekly at the same day and time, and last for 50 minutes.
I offer sessions both in English and Portuguese.

£65-80 per session.
Some concessionary rates are available for those on low or reduced income or unemployed. Please ask.
I also offer lower cost rates for students and for newly accredited therapists.
